Last weekend on Sunday morning, Joe and I ended up watching many episodes of the Little Rascals. I realize they aren't 70s shows but we were watching them as kids in the 70s. They don't show them on TV now because many see them as racist and controversial. They hold a lot of nostalgia for many people though, and they showcase some brilliant writing and incredible child actors (of all sorts of races during a time when you would never have seen non-whites on the same level or receiving the same playing time as white actors). Oddly, between last weekend and this weekend, YouTube/Google yanked dozens and dozens of episodes and so I could only find these two, which are not as good as some of the others we found last weekend but they are still really cute and funny:
And then this morning I dug up this gem. It's a full episode of H.R. Pufinstuf. I loved loved this show, especially Freddy the Flute.
The fortunes are always a good crack up. Most of the time they aren't fortunes, but little clichés of wisdom. I had an awesome one tonight.

- Cookies go stale. Fortunes are forever.
- There is no time like the pleasant.
- There is no sorrow in the world that a hot both wouldn't help, just a little bit.
- You will move into a wonderful home within the year (this did not come true, darn it!).
- To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target.
- It's always better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.
- Life is not a struggle. It's a wiggle.
- Problems are only opportunities in work clothes.
- Mend the first break, kill the snake (Huh?).
- Never smell the inside of a hat.
Ange posted about the Picard Song the other day...which is, IMHO, just plain awesome, but what is funny is where the whole dancing part of the video comes from. This clip, which it turns out, is the perfect thing to send to your sweetie for Valentines day!
Joe was on my case for already loading xmas songs into my iPod. "What about Thanksgiving?!"
"But there aren't any Thanksgiving songs!"
"Yes there are!"
And he proceeded to point out this gem that I had completely forgotten about. AWESOME way to start the morning!
