It's true. Project 365 has fallen by the wayside. I just FORGET. And after 3-4 days of forgetting or taking pictures at the last moment in the day just to say I took something, well, I'll just stick to taking pictures as I think about it. But I have scored some interesting shots over the last couple of weeks, so here is my last almost-365 post.
Chihuly glass sculpture at Mohegan Sun. They finally cleaned it. When I saw it last it was covered in the most disgusting layer of yellow gray smoke crud. I used to work at a bottle supply company that Chihuly used to buy containers to mix his paints. He would always send a cab driver over to get the delivery which I thought was so strange.
Last week we went to the Blue Room for dinner and it was a beautiful snowy picture with the lights everywhere and even a full moon.
This was the scene from my window during the day...
One of Joe's older pieces that we have on the wall in the dining room...
And finally, the loverkitty, Romeo, looking for a big belly rub...
Put the two together and you have the latest Project 365 photos from me.
The first photo is the reflection in my wine glass. My computer and the wall behind it which is covered with postcards.
Joe took care of me this Valentine's day, with roses, a gorgeous handmade card, a big box of Burdick's chocolates and dinner--filet mignon with a port cherry sauce, cheesy potato napoleon and two kinds of potstickers; BACON/pea and pork! I made a port stout chocolate mousse for dessert. YUM!
There's a picture of the potstickers in my most recent Project365 batch:
- The potstickers
- VERY tasty chocolate cherry marshmallows that I got for Joe
- Blue lights in our living room
- The fence outside the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum
- Trees taken at twilight on our way home from Kittery, ME last weekend
- The contents of my bag (for a Voxhunt I never managed) --you'll see my journal, a book by Umberto Eco, my wallet, smartphone, foldup brush, ipod, usb stick and other miscellaneous crap
- A wall at work
- Twilight over a snowy field in Concord, MA
- Thom Yorke hanging out in my car
Last two Project 365 pictures..
Whenever I see the little windows like in the building below I think of the Amityville Horror, a story that has always fascinated me. I'm such a sucker for ghost stories. I watched the Ghost Hunters marathon on TV last night while Joe watched the Super Bowl...
The next is a very familiar object on my desk...
Well they would have said that last Thursday when Joe turned older. I made a cake for him yesterday, and also snagged day 23 of Project 365:
Some pics...of friends Ryan and Carol, Martin with Joe, the pate, olives and chorizo, Jess in her amazing super cool furry hat, the cake, the very yummy rose champagne we drank and since I missed a picture of the cake with the candles, Ryan created a fun substitute with the rest of his cake. Joe's cousin Jeff also came but I don't have a great picture of him in the batch.
Here's the next project 365 installment:
Downtown Boston
The view as I drive into work every day...
The little acupuncture statue with all the points in my acupuncturist's office:
The emergency water wheel in the fire escape stairwell at work...
Here's the Project 365 round up for the week.
Day 13: This is the view from my cube. Sigh. Our office actually has windows all the way around every floor so it does have a lot of light. I just happened to end up on the wall with the main support section which means I get less window. I suppose that's okay. It means I have to get up and walk around to check out any turkeys that appear in the parking lot.
Day 15: It was FUHREEZING on Friday. Here Romeo is very very happy that he wasn't outside in the 1 degree temperature when this picture was taken.
Day 16: And last night, taken at the bar of the Red House, which we go to here and there. I think our favorite bars in Harvard are probably the Red House, Rialto (but now it's undergoing renovations so who knows if we'll like it later) and our new favorite, the bar at Harvest. Occasionally we also hang out at Grendel's but it just depends on whether or not we're up for dealing with lots of rich snotty Harvard kids. Hehe at the other bars we're just dealing with other rich snotty Harvard people. ;) Anyway, I really like how this particular shot turned out. My camera batteries had given out earlier so I was relying on my camera phone which takes great day shots but the flash is the pits. I think that worked out better in this case...
right at home. He seems to think he gets to sleep in Joe's spot at night. Joe put him in his place and now Paku is guarding the wine rack...
Day 012 Project 365
A year ago yesterday I posted about Paku the panda. Well, my dear friend Greg went on a trek to find me one! Paku traveled all over the world to get to me starting in a little store in Harujuku. Greg snapped this picture of the beginning of his journey. Note the little panda getups the store girls have.
"thingz getting out of hand, but i should make it through bangkok very soon. got myself hooked up in this den of iniquity 'somewhere' in the mekong triangle but i've almost managed to extricate myself from it. possibly if we're optimistic. more later, chin up."
Then in September, Greg snapped this picture "he wakes up with terrible cotton mouth....on a WEDNESDAY, no less!" Note the eye mask...poor Paku.
But today, he showed up on my doorstep!! Paku arrived ready for winter, complete with little pink scarf and pink mittens on a string (with little gold paw prints on them, LOL!) Just in time for Project 365 Day 011 pics! Romeo in particular LUVS his new little friend. Greg, thanks for keeping him safe for the last year. :)
Who knows what new adventures Paku will have in Boston!
